Super-strong 1” thick plywood

Whilst we could have built this Small Desk from thinner plywood, we’re all-in on ending disposable furniture, so we opted for 25mm (1”) thick solid plywood instead. This extra 47% thickness helps avoid sagging and wobbling, so your desk will stay strong, no matter what you do put on it.
Tool free assembly

Tool-free assembly. No small parts to lose.

Our desks arrive flat-packed and slot together – no screws, brackets, or hex-keys required. Not only does assembly take just a minute or two, it means you’ve go no small parts to lose when you move house. Simple.

Beautiful Australian timber

Native to Australia, Hoop Pine is a beautiful bright timber with a large gentle grain pattern. Our desks are finished in a VOC-free, durable hardwax coating to protect them from that spilled bowl of spaghetti, coffee, or glass of wine – we don’t judge.

Four adjustable holders

Start each day with a clutter-free workspace. The four included (two long, two short) holders will help keep your bag, backpack or headphones neatly packed away.

A secret shelf for stuff

No cords or power bricks on the floor means you can’t get tangled up in power cord spaghetti! Plus, you can hide away any unsightly devices or external drives.

Love it, but not right now? That's cool.

If you want to mull it over a bit, pop in your email and we'll send you one email reminder when you choose.

Grown locally, from renewable Aussie timber

Our Hoop Pine timber is sustainably grown in South East QLD, turned into timber in Brissy, and lovingly crafted in Melbourne.

Hoop Pine (Araucaria cunninghamii) is a native Australian species sustainable grown in plantations throughout north NSW and south QLD. It’s fast growing and carefully managed to ensure supply for decades to come.

Our supplier holds Chain of Custody under the RW, PEFC and FSC® forest certification schemes.

Carbon-Neutral Delivery

Carbon Reduction Institute

In Australia, the transport sector accounts for approximately 18% (102 million tonnes in 2018) of our total greenhouse gas emissions. This includes private vehicles, public transport and freight.

These numbers are high enough and we don't want to add to it, which is why through our delivery partner and the Carbon Reduction Institute, all our deliveries are 100% carbon offset.

Caring for The Small Desk

Whilst our desks are designed and built to be strong, they have a tender side to them as well, so to keep your Ecosium desk top looking beautiful for as long as possible, follow the care instructions below.

Line illustration of a hand with a moist cloth wiping a surface

Wipe with a moist cloth

The chemicals in spray and wipe products will slowly remove the natural wax and oil finish. Instead, simply use a slightly moistened (with water) cloth to remove any dirt or stains.

Use a coaster

The heat and moisture from food or drinks may leave a ring mark on the natural finish, so make sure to always use a coaster or place mat.

Nothing scratchy

Don’t drop your keys or drag anything heavy over the desktop. This can create scratches or dents in the surface. Enjoy your desk, but be kind to it too.

Assembling The Small Desk

Make a bit of space for your new desk before you get started. We recommend assembling the desk in-place where it will live.
